Yalda Night in words of Grand Ayat. Javadi Amoli

Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli has highlighted the need to use the opportunity of Yalda Night for spiritual perfection and growth.

Hawzah News Agency- Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Abdullah Javadi Amoli, in his book titled (Keys to Life), which was written with the aim of expanding the Iranian and Islamic lifestyle, highlighted the need to pay attention to these nights for scientific and spiritual growth and perfection by explaining the origin of the word Yalda.

In his book Mafatih al-Hayyat, it is stated about Yalda Night: This word is Syriac and means "birthday", and since they associated Yalda Night with the birth of the Prophet Jesus (PBUH), they called it by this name. Since Iranians considered this night to be the night of the birth of (Mitra) Mehr, they accepted it with its Syriac pronunciation, and in fact, Yalda is equivalent to the European word (Noel) which is fixed on December 25, so the European Noel is the same as the Iranian Yalda Night or the Iranian Chele Night. According to (Dehkhoda) One of the traditions of Yalda Night is to stay up all night, visit, and maintain ties of kinship, as well as to make scientific use of its opportunity by raising scientific and historical issues, reading poetry, especially Hafez's poems, and reciting Hafez's poems, etc. is another tradition. It is appropriate for believers to familiarize themselves with the aspects of the life and character of the Infallible Imams (PBUT) in order to grow and perfect their knowledge and spirituality.
